If you don’t have two-factor authentication on or you’re not sure if it’s on, please refer to the document below titled “How to Turn On the Two-Factor Authentication for your Apple ID.”
If you are instead using Twotwo-Step step verification, you need to switch over to use two-factor authentication. The Apple Developer Program requires Twotwo-Factor factor authentication for the Developer Account Program. You have to turn off the Twotwo-Step step verification first, and then turn on the Twotwo-Factor factor authentication next. To turn off Twotwo-Step step verification, please refer to the title below on How “How to turn Turn off Two-Step verificationVerification.
Note that the two-factor authentication is different from Twothe two-Step step verification. Two-factor authentication requires not only your password but and access to either a trusted device or verification code delivered via SMS or a phone call.
