If you don’t have it two-factor authentication on or you’re not sure whether or not it is if it’s on, please refer to the title below on How to turn on the two-factor authentication document “How to Turn On the Two-Factor Authentication for your Apple ID.”
If you are instead using Two-Step verification, you need to switch over. Apple Developer Program requires Two-Factor authentication for the Developer Account Program. You have to turn off the Two-Step verification first, and then turn on the Two-Factor authentication next. To turn off Two-Step verification, please refer to the title below on How to turn off Two-Step verification.
Note that the two-factor authentication is different from Two-Step verification. Two-factor authentication requires not only your password but access to either a trusted device or verification code delivered via SMS or phone call.
